These patients are then evaluated
individually, where after the laboratory provides clear feedback to both
the referring practitioner and the patient on the current status of his
or her condition. Based on the data obtained during biomechanical
assessment, optimal programmes for rehabilitation, injury prevention and
sport performance are developed for a particular patient. Experienced
Biokineticists assist with rehabilitation, while sport scientists are
available to develop high performance programmes for any type of
athlete.
Where necessary, other external role players may form part of the
multi-disciplinary team responsible for treatment. This could include
physiotherapists who deal effectively with the acute handling of post
surgical injuries. If the need arises, provision is made for an
Orthopaedic Specialised Clinic focusing on the needs and condition of
particular patients. The referring practitioner, a dietician, a
psychologist, etc. could be involved in such a clinic.
